Online Purchases of Digital Images for Personal Use
If the images you wish to purchase are for personal use, you may order them online via the PayPal shopping cart. Fees range from $30 - $90 per image. Major credit cards are accepted. You are not obligated to be a member of PayPal to make a purchase.
Please contact me directly if you wish to use a different method of payment.
Personal use includes printing and display of the image (in a home, office, school, or small business), private gifts, school-related projects (with the exception of websites), use of the image as a desktop, etc. If the image will be displayed in a public location, please credit me and include the address of this website.
Advertising, Corporate, or Editorial Uses
If the images you wish to purchase are for use in advertising, corporate publications or presentations, editorial works, promotional materials, websites, and/or any other medium involving distribution — whether in-house or public — please contact me directly to negotiate the terms and price. The fee structure will be contingent the type of use, the size and location of the reproduction, the size and extent of the distribution, the duration of the run, and the exclusivity of the license.
Full rights to the images are typically not available for sale.
Online Purchases of Prints
I use a high-resolution color laser printer and photo-quality paper for prints. Please see the price list for further information. No license of use is included with the purchase of a print other than to display the image (in a home, office, school, or small business). If the image will be displayed in a public location, please credit me and include the address of this website. The dimensions indicated correspond to the size of the paper and include margins up to 1/4" around the image.
Delivery of Digital Images
After payment for an order has been received, I will provide you with a link and login information for a secure directory from which the high-resolution image files may be downloaded. The format of the images will be either TIFF or JPEG as indicated on the website. The resolution will generally be around 2000 pixels by 3000 pixels, unless otherwise noted.
In general, the images will be made available within a day or two and will be kept on the server for at least seven (7) days. However, this is a one-man operation and if I am off taking photos it may have to wait until I return. If your order is time-sensitive, please contact me beforehand to make sure I am available to attend to it right away.
If you are unable to download the images from the secure directory during the period they are made available, contact me before the period has passed to make other arrangements.
Sales Tax
Residents of Texas are obliged to pay sales tax of 8-¼ %, which will be added to the total. Residents of other states and countries are obliged to report the sale and pay sales taxes in accordance with the laws in their jurisdiction.
Tax-exempt 501 (c) organizations in Texas may submit a Sales and Use Tax Exemption Certificate to have their sales taxes refunded. If the protocol of your organization does not allow for the refunding sales taxes ex post, contact me directly in lieu of purchasing online.
Shipping and Handling
Because digital images are delivered electronically, there is no charge for shipping and handling. If you wish for your order to be burned to a CD-ROM and delivered via USPS First-Class Mail, you may add a $10 shipping and handling service.
Shipping and handling is included in the cost of prints. Prints are delivered via USPS First-Class Mail.
If you wish to have prints or a CD-ROM shipped to an address outside the United States, contact me directly in lieu of purchasing online.
Ownership and License of Use
The fee is for limited license use of the images and may not be transferred. Ownership of all images remains mine. Unless separate terms are negotiated with regard to the exclusivity of the license, I may sell additional licenses for the same images to other parties at any time.
